Welcome to the Livestock and Fish 2015 Review and Planing Workshop!
This meeting is being conducted through a two part process using an online format that will operate across wide ranging time zones.
This event, deals with a review of the Livestock and Fish program work, of the context within which it operates, of opinions relating to key design features, and recommendations for research questions, approaches, model changes and theories of change.
The second part will happen later, after we have received fuller guidelines from the Consortium Office. This will deal with the first stage generation of ideas for Phase 2 of the program, and specific planning for the completion of the proposal preparation and submission.
Conducting a meeting through virtual means is novel for us, and to some extent, this is an experiment that we hope will work well. There is a risk that not all who should participate will do so. We therefore ask that as each of you register, you commit to participate. We want to be sure that the process has captured the opinions of everyone.
You are asked to commit some hours on each of 4 days – starting with Monday March 23rd, through to Thursday March 26th. These days coincide with the former planning event and associated travel time, and all who had agreed to attend will therefore have time to do so.
The instructions for the meeting are self-explanatory. If you would like to mull over the flow of the workshop, this can be found here.
For now though, your instructions are very straight forward:.
- On the front page is a buttons that says “Register for the Event”. Click on this.
- This will take you to the registration page. Click on “sign up”
- Fill in the form and Click Register
- This will take you to a new page. Click on “Livestock and Fish Review and Planning 2015 Workshop”
- Now you are in.
(Click here for and illustrated step by step Registration Guide).
From here on, follow the instructions under’Info’. There are some pointers to help you as follows:
- On the menu bar, click on ‘Info’ and then ‘Instructions’ here are a few tricks and tips to get you through
- The logic of the meeting is structured around the opening menu, and you can always get back here by clicking ‘Home‘ or on ‘Return to Conference Agenda‘
- Go to the session for today. Complete the tasks for that day. This will involve watching some presentations, and making comments.
If you get really stuck, do call Stuart (s.worsley@cgiar.org), or Ben (B.Hack@cgiar.org) or Pat (P.Rainey@cgiar.org) or Evelyn Katingi (E.Katingi@cgiar.org)
Most important of all though is to engage and to enjoy.
Thanks for the welcome note. I would like to see the overall aim of the workshop clearly stated. You mention: 'This event, deals with a review of the Livestock and Fish program work, of the context within which it operates, of opinions relating to key design features, and recommendations for research questions, approaches, model changes and theories of change.' What is the aim of this review? what will the review be used for?
Also, you mention 2 parts and add that 'the second part will happen later'. Will it be part of this workshop? or when will it happen?
Thanks
